North Carolina Engagement Photographer
Alli and Bryan invited me down to their family’s beautiful home on Emerald Isle for their engagement session this last spring.. honestly, seven years in to this gig, my only requirement for a session location is that it’s meaningful to my couple. The beauty is truly found right there. I hope these images will remind them of their long walks together as they planned their wedding, imagined their marriage, and celebrated their life together. It’s the only the way these images go from pretty to lasting. And it’s the only way I feel like I’ve done my job well.
What I loved most about this day is that we had the beach to ourselves. The day was moody and the sky had so much character and texture.. we just took a long walk together to the end of their island and learned more about each other, laughed a lot and took some pictures. It’s honestly that easy. Taking engagement photos doesn’t have to be a production. It doesn’t have to be stiff or directed or difficult. It should be easy and comfortable and you.. and with a little direction and assurance, we can honestly create some magic together. And mother nature always, always helps.
I’m so excited to photograph their wedding in April.. and what is even more special is I’ll get to see this family twice this season. Alli’s sister Christa is getting married in August and there is no better compliment than to have two siblings on my calendar for a wedding season. Thanks Alli and Bryan. You two are something special.
